Viessmann Climate Solutions has supplied 19 heat pumps to FC Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena. The Vitocal 350 HT-PRO heat pumps are responsible for the decentralized heat supply to the entire stadium, ensuring, for example, that the bistro, fan shop and the ‘Experience World’ areas are kept at a comfortable temperature for the club’s thousands of fans. In addition, the roofs of the visitor control areas have been equipped with around 1,050 photovoltaic modules to further increase energy self-sufficiency at the Allianz Arena. Viessmann Climate Solutions UK has launched a new heat pump promotion, to incentivize installations of its popular Vitocal 150-A air source heat pump. For every Vitocal 150-A heat pump registered on Viessmann’s VPlus platform and installed between October 1st and December 31st 2025, Viessmann will send the installer a pre-loaded card with £150 as well as crediting the usual VPlus loyalty scheme points. Installers may still upgrade the new standard 10-year warranty to 12 years on the Vitodens 200-W at an additional cost. All Viessmann Climate Solutions’ warranties apply for installations in mainland Great Britain. For other areas, terms may vary. Installers registering Vitodens 200-W boilers during this promotion may continue to accrue reward points as normal via the VPlus loyalty scheme.

Given the goal of ‘net-zero’ carbon emissions by 2050, new approaches have emerged to achieve that target. Some of the solutions currently being evaluated include the use of hydrogen as a replacement fuel, to store electricity from solar or wind power, or in fuel cells that use an electrochemical process combining hydrogen and oxygen to produce electrical energy and water. Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe, although pure hydrogen is rare on earth. It can be extracted from water (electrolysis), Alternatively, it can be extracted from natural gas using carbon capture technology to prevent carbon, a by-product, from escaping into the air. The Vitovalor 300P is a fuel cell heating appliance, made by German manufacturer Viessmann, that uses the principle of cogeneration to generate both power and heat. To do so, the fuel cell requires oxygen and hydrogen (obtained from natural gas in an earlier process). The generation of heat and power is based on an electrochemical reaction between the two elements, also called cold combustion.
