Oil and gas boiler installations
“De-coupling electricity prices from gas could also reduce bills for consumers using other energy sources, and the government could even set a firm date for the end of oil and gas boiler installations – in the same way that a clear end to the sale of non-electric vehicles has been agreed.”
“With increased demand for heat pumps, the UK also needs a base of installers who are equipped to provide them. While bodies like the Heat Pump Association are already creating a highly skilled heat pump workforce, the government must increase funding to train installers across the country in order to overcome the current skills shortage and reach the level of heat pump uptake we hope for,” said Russell Dean, Residential Product Group Director at Mitsubishi Electric.
